In celebration of books, reading, and finding alternatives to screen time, the library is hosting a special week of literacy activities!

Monday - "The Unplug and Play Challenge begins".  Trying to reduce screen time at home?  Fill in your form each day and bring it back the following week to your classroom teacher to win special prizes.  Forms will be sent home today.

Tuesday - Class Poster Day - each class will vote on a favourite book, book series, book character, or author, and will design a poster to hang outside on a bulletin board.  Prizes will be awarded to any parcitipating classroom!

Wednesday - "Read me!" Day - try to wear all sorts of clothing with words, words, words!

Thursday - Book Swap Day - Did you bring in some "gently used" books to swap?  See you at the library at recess and lunch for this annual popular activity.  Leftover books will be donated to the "Heap the Honda" city-wide event.

Friday - "Reading rocks, so wear funky socks" Day - Wear your coolest, fuzziest, most colourful socks in celebration of the joy of reading.  Friday is also our Book giveaway day!  Listen to the announcements for your chance to win a free book or a coupon to use at the next Scholastic Book Fair in the spring!  Winners will be drawn from each classroom.
