Hello Parents,

Thank You:

Thank you to Sherie Guild and her helpers, Margret Ngai and Simone Floen for organizing and dealing with the Entertainment Book Fundraiser this year. Thank you to Rachelle & Steve Dudley for organizing and dealing with the QSP Magazine Fundraiser information packages. Rachelle and Steve have done this for a number of years, thanks guys we appreciate your help. QSP Magazine information packages will be sent home with students on Monday October 4th. QSP has fantastic subscription deals, so keep your eye out for the packages coming home.

Parking in the Loop:

There has been a number of complaints about parents parking their vehicles in the loop at the school. This morning the school bus that drops off our student in a wheelchair could not pull up to the curb in the loop to make the drop-off. Due to parents leaving their vehicles unattended in the loop, the school bus had to block all traffic in the loop and traffic was backed up all the way down to the roundabout. This is not the first time this has happened.

Traffic conjestion in the loop is a safety concern. Vehicles are not to stop in the loop for any longer than 20 seconds – time required to drop off or pick up your child. If you must stop and wait for your child please do so in the school’s two parking lots or out on Pacific Way Drive. And please do not park or sit in your vehicle in the driveway to the parking lots, there needs to be enough width for 2-way traffic.
The school is trying to encourage all parents to park in the parking lots if they need to exit their vehicles for any reason.
Parents, Staff and bus drivers thank you for your cooperation.
Scholastic Book Fair:
There will be a Scholastic Book Fair in the Library on Thursday October 7th and Friday October 8th from 12:30 until 4:00pm.
We welcome you and your children to visit the library when you come in for your Parent Teacher Conferences.
There will be books for all ages and Scholastic book prices are much less than you will find in a book store.
Our Librarian, Mrs. Piva, is looking for a couple of volunteers to help in the library on the Book Fair afternoons (especially Friday). Any length of time that you could help out would be greatly appreciated, and you are more than welcome to have your children come with you. Please contact Amber Piva at if you are able to help her out.
School Sign:
We are looking for someone to help out with keeping our outdoor school sign updated. The sign is located above the Kindergarten windows and faces the playground. The sign needs to be updated about once a month. There is a long metal pole with a suction cup that can be used to move the letters around; however, in the wintertime it is much easier to just use a tall ladder. Maybe this is something you and your spouse can do together with your kids help. We can make arrangements with you if you need to do this outside of regular school hours. What a great way to help out at the school without a big committment.
Please reply back to this email if you are interested in helping out with keeping the school sign updated.
